Garden Design

Are you wanting to transform your own home garden into a refuge for yourself and pollinators but don't know where to start? I am now offering garden consultations as well as design and installation. If you are dreaming of a cottage style garden that incorporates native plants, edible plants, and non-invasive ornamentals, then you have come to the right place.  My style is lush, dense, and functional in terms of ecosystem benefits and pollinator support.  

A consultation is a one hour walk and talk around your space.  At the end you will be provided a copy of my notes taken on-site that includes any plant or management recommendations.  The cost of a consultation is $100 within my service area of Elburn, Campton Hills, Sugar Grove, St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, and Sycamore. 

For design work, I will walk you through creating a garden from scratch or rejuvenating an existing space.  I am currently only taking on projects that are 500 square feet or less for new designs. Design projects begin with a consultation and include plant procurement and installation if desired. Gardens are dynamic and ever changing and plants ultimately decide where they want to grow.  Because of this I do not offer drawn out plans for garden designs.  Instead, you will be provided with a digital snapshot of what will be blooming each season so you can identify plants as they bloom.  This way as your garden matures and plants seed around your space you will not be stuck with an outdated map but rather a key to learning the plants in your garden for yourself.  Cost for design is based upon the scope of work and plants chosen.
